Distance: 10 m (approx. 4 hours) 

Start / finish at Appley Tower. 

This trail takes in nearly a millennium of history from the Fleet Review of 1415 and including Henry VIII and his troubles with flagships and monasteries, Victorian high (and low) society, the Binstead Idol and Quarr Abbey.   

Highlights include: Appley Tower and Estate, HMS Sirius Memorial, Stories of the Solent, Ryde Pier, Georgian and Victorian buildings, Ladies Walk, Binstead Church, Quarr Abbey (ruins, modern building and estate), Binstead Wood, Ryde School, Churches, Market House, Town Hall and Theatre, Union Street, Esplanade, Coastguard Cottages, Royal Geroge memorials, Monktonmead Brook and St Cecilias Abbey.
