Tree Initiatives
Tree Giveaway
In 2022, we worked with the Isle of Wight Council’s ‘tree giveaway’ project, in which 500 trees were given to Island residents as part of the Council's commitment to support biodiversity gain and net zero. Natural Enterprise was the distribution centre for the project, which had a 100% take up. Councillor Jonathan Bacon, Cabinet member for environment said:
“We are pleased to be supporting this initiative along with Natural Enterprise’s Gift to Nature. "
Natasha Dix, strategic manager for environment, added,
"This free tree giveaway is a great opportunity for our local Island community to get involved and help us work towards our aspirations in making the Island a sustainable place to live and work."
The Big Tree Plant
Natural Enterprise participated in the national project ‘The Big Tree Plant’, which, alongside Spectrum Housing Association, helped Islanders plant over 3000 trees. The aim of the project was to increase the number of trees planted in towns, cities, and neighbourhoods throughout England by providing free trees to groups/sites to be planted on public and community land.
