Yarmouth Broadband
Natural Enterprise was successful in bringing high speed broadband to the Yarmouth Telephone Exchange area (including Ningwood, Wellow, Thorley, Norton and Yarmouth)increasing speeds 2-3 times faster than previous provision. It was the intention that Yarmouth and the Isle of Wight were not left behind as the demand on the internet increased.
Due to the community nature of this initiative, Shalfleet and Yarmouth Primary Schools and Little Explorers and Little Stars pre-schools each received £250 when 200 residents and businesses signed up to high speed Yarmouth Broadband. At the same time, the price for residential users reduced from £22.99 to £19.99 per month.
The project, thanks to the partnership working of Natural Enterprise, Navigate IT and Telecom, Yarmouth Town Council, Yarmouth Business Association, Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners and Country Land & Business Association was funded by the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).
Natural Enterprise saw this as a real opportunity not only for the Yarmouth area but for the rest of the Island too. This initial work formed part of our drive to bring high speed Broadband to all the rural areas on the Island.
Natural Enterprise would like to acknowledge the businesses who gave their valuable support to this initiative:
Navigate IT and Telecom
Yarmouth Town Council
Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners
Yarmouth Business Association
